<image:title>Wayfinding Project - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>Exploring Dalgety Bay Made Easier: The New Wayfinding Signage is Here! Getting around Dalgety Bay just got a whole lot simpler and more intuitive! Whether you're a lifelong local rediscovering your neighborhood or a visitor taking in our stunning Fife coastal views, the newly installed wayfinding signage is designed to help you navigate with ease. The Story Behind the Signs The idea for the signage came about after many visitors struggled to find their way around our town and discover everything it has to offer. To solve this, 5 monoliths featuring maps and information about Dalgety Bay have been installed at key locations, including: The Train Station St David’s Harbour Shops at Moray North Regents Way Centre The Avenue An additional 9 fingerposts are also being installed around Dalgety Bay. Bringing these signs to life was a true community effort: The Inspiration: The idea came from a member of the Community Council, who worked alongside other community groups and Councillor David Barratt to make the signage happen. The Wording: Brian Johnston, a trustee of the Dalgety Community Trust, along with local history enthusiasts from the Trust’s Dalgety Heritage Trail team, crafted the text. The Photography: The stunning photos featured on the signage were provided by William Poncelet, the official photographer of the Dalgety Bay Gala. The Design & Production: The signs were designed by a Community Council member alongside a representative from What's Happening Dalgety Bay. They worked with Baillie Signs under project lead Bryan Scott, who coordinated all parties to manufacture and install the new wayfinding signs and fingerposts. The Funding: The project was funded by the COVID Recovery Fund from Fife Council and the Edinburgh Airport Community Fund. Commenting on the project, Cllr. David Barratt said: “The new signage is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the community and will make it easier for residents and visitors alike to find their way around Dalgety Bay. It also provides an opportunity to showcase the town’s history, coastline, and green spaces, while creating a stronger sense of place and identity for the town.” Why the New Signage Matters Seamless Navigation: Clear, contemporary direction markers now map out key local routes, connecting residential areas, local shops, and transit links. Highlighting Local Gems: The signs are designed not just for direction, but to spotlight our scenic paths, parks, and historical touchpoints. Boosting Active Travel: By making walking and cycling routes clearer, the updates encourage everyone to ditch the car for short local trips and enjoy the outdoors. Community Accessibility: Thoughtfully placed and clearly legible information panels make our town more welcoming and accessible to all visitors. What to Look Out For & What's Next Keep an eye out for the fresh, modern fingerposts and map monoliths popping up across key junctions and pathways. They make tracking down local amenities, coastal paths, and transport hubs a breeze!</image:caption>
